Mildred B. Goodwin Schaible, 96, died Aug. 1, 2004, at Sterling Presbyterian Manor, Sterling. She was born Sept. 13, 1908, at Blackwell, Okla., the daughter of Leslie J. and Laura Parker Wright. She attended Emporia State Teacher’s College. A longtime resident of Sterling, she was a homemaker, former schoolteacher, and realtor.She belonged to First Baptist Church, Sterling.

On Feb. 2, 1932, she married Vinnie Garold Goodwin. He died May 31, 1957. On Jan. 24, 1964, she married Albert Schaible. He died March 12, 1994. Survivors include a son, Vinnie G. Goodwin Jr., Peoria, Ariz.; a daughter, Donna Jones, Sterling; a stepson, Larry Schaible, Guthrie, Okla.; a brother Roy Hanney, Spokane, Wash.; a sister, Regina Andrew, El Dorado; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Goodwin.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Sterling, with the Rev. Cliff Kirk presiding. Burial will be in Sterling Community Cemetery.
