Obituary – GEORGE H. TICHENOR III
George H. Tichenor, 67, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at his home in Sterling.
He was born Feb.2, 1935, at San Francisco, the son of George and Thelma P. Pence Tichenor. He was a MIT graduate with a degree in aeronautics. A longtime Sterling resident, formerly of San Francisco, New Yok and London, he was a mechanical engineer, and was a college professor at San Francisco State University.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include an uncle, Joseph Arden Pence, Davis, Calif. and several cousins.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday at his home, 240 N. Broadway, Sterling, with Father Kevin Schmidt officiating. Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Sterling Community Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to Sterling College or to the donor’s choice, both in care of the funeral home.
