Deborah Smith was born on April 29, 1824, Catskill, Greene County, New York, her father, Samuel, was 29 and her mother, Mary, was 25. She married Clarkson Taber on April 17, 1851, in Westbury, New York. They had six children during their marriage. She died in April 1914 in Chicago, Illinois, at the impressive age of 90.
