Inez May Gibson was born January 14, 1862 and passed away at her home east of Sterling, May 3, 1945 age the age of 83 years, 3 months, and 19 days.When only a child she accompanied her parents, James M. Gibson and Sarah Ann Hoffman and their family from West Branch, Iowa, in 1875 to Sterling where she has made her home for the past 70 years.At the age of 18 years she began teaching school in this locality and taught for a number of years. She endured many hardships of the early settlers, but was happy in making an effort to overcome them. She was married to Elonidas King Dill March 25, 1883 in Rice County. Mr. Dill preceded his wife in death in July 25, 1932. At an early age she was baptized and later Mr. and Mrs. Dill became members of the Methodist Church. For years she was a member of the Eastern Star and a charter member of the Mutual Benefit Club and was always a staunch supporter of neighborhood gatherings. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones and her many friends and neighbors. She is survived by five sisters and one brother: Mrs. Minnie Dymond, Sterling; Mrs. Emma Wagoner, Hutchinson; Mrs. Leona Spriggs, Hutchinson; Mrs. Norma Heter, Paonia, Colo.; Miss Mittie Gibson, Sterling; Mr. Charlie Gibson, Sterling.
