Roy R. Colle, a lifetime resident of Rice County, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1990, at the District Hospital, Lyons.

He was born Jan. 28, 1902, in Rice County, the son of John and Anna Engelland Colle, He was a farmer. On Jan. 20, 1924 he married Muriel Clutter at Little River.

Survivors include his wife, Muriel; one son, Guy Alan, Birmingham, AL; two daughters, Gaynell Hanley, Lyons, and Colleen Smith. Birmingham, AL; one brother, Lester Colle, Nickerson; one sister, Lillian Campbell, San Marino, CA; nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were held Monday morning at 10:00 at Porter and Sillin Funeral Home, Sterling, with Rev. Bill Best officiating. Burial was in the Sterling Community Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the donor’s choice.
