Charlotte was a licensed pharmacist and worked in Brock’s Drug Store with her father-in-law while Jim served in the military.  Later Jim and Charlotte owned and operated the Brock Drug Store in Sterling, KS for many years.

They reared two children during those years and served the Sterling Community until Charlotte’s death after which Jim continued being the Sterling Druggist.

They were members of the Sterling United Presbyterian Church and active in civic affairs.
