Rex Allen Wyatt was born July 3, 1954 in Sterling, Kansas. He died on January 23, 2015 in California. He is survived by his parents, Dick and Annie Wyatt of Wichita, Kansas. Immediate survivors are sons, Jeffrey Wyatt of Concord, California and Joshua Wyatt and wife, Micaiah, of Lakeville, Minnesota and 4 Grandchildren. He has on brother, Ray and wife, Joan, and 2 nephews, Tate and Tanner Wyatt.
Rex attended schools in Sterling and graduated from Sterling High School in 1972. He enlisted in the Navy that summer and spent 4 years in the Vietnam War aboard the ship Coral Sea.
In high school Rex was very active in the sports activities of the school, playing and lettering in football and basketball in his Sophomore, Junior and Senior years. He was also active in the music department singing many solos and receiving high honors at contests. He was active in Boy Scouts.
After his discharge from the Navy, he remained in California and worked at Safeway. He will be remembered and missed by his family and many friends.
Services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Birzer Funeral Home, 203 North 7th, Sterling, Kansas with Rev. James Anderson officiating. Burial to follow with military honors by Sterling American Legion at Sterling Community Cemetery, Sterling. Memorials to Sterling High School Black Bears Activity Endowment, P.O.
