Everett L. Warn, 86, died Jan. 25, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. He was born Oct.19, 1923 in Hemingford, Neb. to Lewis O. and Grace Slaymaker Warn.
He was a Hutchinson resident for six and a half years, former longtime Sterling resident and Nickerson resident. He was an Electrician for Sterling College; owner of Warn Electric, where he helped build gas stations all across Kansas.
He was a member of Silver Threads, Sterling, AARP and American Legion Post #68, Hutchinson. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II.
On Jan. 20, 1963, he married Hazel A. Miller in Sterling. She survives. Other survivors include: two grand children and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters,Sharon Osler and Carolyn DiPio; a sister Margaret E. Horton.
Funeral will be a 2 p.m. Friday at Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling, with Rev. Marvin Ewertt officiating. Burial will be in Sterling Community Cemetery, Sterling with Military Honors by Ft. Riley Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Sterling College in care of the funeral home.
