Obituary Sterling Kansas Bulletin

J. M. Ramsey died at his home in Sterling, Kan., Saturday, Aug. 19, 1903. The funeral was held from the residence Monday, Aug. 31, and was conducted by his pastor, Dr. C. H. Strong, assisted by Dr. F. M. Spencer and Rev.  A. B. McCarrol.

Mr. Ramsey was born near Morning Sun, Preble County, Ohio, July 9, 1831, and at his death was 72 years, 1 month and 20 days old.

He was married to Martha J. Gilmore, Nov. 17, 1857.  To this union were born five sons and two daughters, all living but one daughter.

The family moved from Ohio to Tennessee in Feb., 1881, and from there moved to Anderson County, Kan., in 1884, and moved from there to Sterling in 1895, where Mr. Ramsey lived until his death.

Mr. Ramsey was a lifelong member of the United Presbyterian church and a faithful Christian man. He will be missed and mourned by many Sterling friends.
