Kelley Maureen Murphy, 53, a resident of Irving for the past ten years, daughter of Kathleen Murphy, died suddenly Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at her home. Born June 17, 1966 in Salina, Kansas, she is the daughter of Kathleen Jane Minter Murphy and the late Daryl Emerson Murphy . She had a Masters degree in the Arts and lived and worked in New York City until moving to Irving. She was an actress in New York, and had appeared on stage in the Black Hills Playhouse and the Irving Lyric Stage. She worked for many years in many different philanthropic organizations including the Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors. She was a member of Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church in Irving where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Daughters of the King.
Preceded in death by her father, Daryl Emerson Murphy, and an uncle Steve Minter, she is survived by her mother, Katheen J. Murphy of Irving; two sisters Debra Lynn (Debi) Register and her husband Jerry, and Dawn Denise Harper, both of Florida; cousins, Courtney Goin, Emily Wilcox, Megan Winter, Stephanie Ambrose, and Kristy Droegemier; and several nieces and nephews in Florida whom she loved very much.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Monday, September 9, 2019 at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church, 516 South O’Connor Road, Rev. Robert Corely, officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Heifer, International at heifer.org or to any humane society.
