Maurice L. Mowrey, Wichita, former Sterling resident, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, at the age of 63.
He was born on Oct. 25, 1937, at Ulysses, the son of Wilbur Linton and Violet F. Paul Mowrey. A longtime Wichita resident, he was a retired City administrator. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a life master at bridge.
Survivors are a daughter, Susie Mai, Wichita; a sister, Marilyn Mowrey, Sterling, and a granddaughter. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday at Cochran Mortuary, Wichita, with graveside services at 1 p.m. Monday in Sterling Community Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Center for Basic Cancer Research, Kansas State University, in care of the mortuary.
