Alfred “Jim” LeRoy Moore died June 13, 2018, at home in St. John, KS. He was born September 26, 1932, to Frank Henry Moore and Mable Bell Fenwick. On June 6, 1956, he married Burnedine Belva Nixon in Wellington, KS. She died May 31, 2005. They had one daughter Norma. On January 10, 2010, Jim married Nancy Vaughn in Sterling, KS. Jim worked on the oil rigs and retired after 35 years. Survivors include wife, Nancy Moore; brothers Robert Moore, Lyons, KS, and Pat Moore, Hutchinson, KS.; sisters Mattie Jones, Sterling, KS., Minnie Myers, Alden, KS., and Myrtle Ladd, Kansas City; grandson Nathan Jones, Sterling, KS.; stepdaughters Patty Geissert, Melissa Geissert, Rebecca Davis, all of Salina, KS. and Gena Kelly, Sterling, KS.; and stepson Marvin Blue, St. John, KS. - A graveside service will be held Friday, June 22, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Sterling Cemetery, Sterling, KS.
- Jim was preceded in death by brothers Frank Moore Jr., John Moore, Zeke Moore and Harry Moore; sisters Elsie Churchfield, Millie Nelson, and Helen Chim.
- He enlisted in the Army on March 25, 1953, and was honorably discharged March 17, 1955. He spent 18 mo. in Germany.
