JOHN E. DRAKE
John E. Drake, a resident of Hutchinson since 1988, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 1991, at Hutchinson Hospital. He was born July 11, 1917, in Walnut Township in Reno County to Edward F. and Anna Royer Drake.
He was a retired motel manager and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He married Helen Hill at Hutchinson on Nov. 15, 1941.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, of the home and one sister, Thelma Groth, Hutchinson, formerly of Sterling.
A graveside service was held at the Sterling Community Cemetery Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Brooks officiating. Porter and Sillin Funeral Home, Sterling, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials to Hospice of Reno County are suggested and may be sent to the funeral home.
