![]() John A. Davis, 79, of 505B Idlewild Drive, died March 16, 1996, at Hutchinson Hospital. He was born May 2, 1916, in Reno County, the son of William Stewart Lowry and Mae Pearson Davis. He graduated from Nickerson High School. A lifetime Reno County resident, he was a retired farmer and owner of E. J.’s Uniform Company. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68, both of Hutchinson. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On January 1, 1938 he married Evelyn L. Elliott in Augusta, KS. She survives. Other survivors include a son, William Mark, Los Angeles, CA, a daughter Sheila Mae Tiemeier, Hutchinson; a brother, Charles, Arkansas City; a sister, Lillian McCrum, Garland, Texas; and two grandchildren, Nathan and Megan Tiemeier, both of Hutchinson. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Revs. James M. Wert and Judith Steele presiding. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the mortuary.
