His obituary was published in the Hutchinson News, Hutchinson, Kansas on July 2, 1987, page 9.
Clarence died on July 1 at Lyons Hospital. He was born Sept. 19, 1917 at Hutchinson and wed Edna Veneta Webb Jan. 6, 1967 at Sterling. He was a member of the Baptist Church and a retired grain elevator manager for a farmers’ co-op.
In addition to his wife he was survived by his mother Fanny Fox who also lived in Sterling. Others included a son of Hays, two stepsons, one living in Russell and the other in Enid, Oklahoma. Also brother Marion Mahoney of Baycliff, Texas and sisters Helen Hall of Sublette and Sylvia Ahlson of Patterson, California, plus eight grandchildren. His funeral was on Friday, July 3 at the First Baptist Church, Sterling. Peacock-Milton of Stafford were in charge. The casket was open for family only.
Clarence’s remains are buried in Leesburg Cemetery, Stafford, KS; only a marker at Sterling Community Cemetery.
