Johnson, 67, a retired farmer, oil promoter and realtor at Sterling, died Saturday at Sterling Community Hospital after a long illness. Born Dec. 20, 1896, in Reno County, northwest of Sterling, he lived in Reno and Rice counties all his life. He married Helen Culbertson in Sterling June 16, 1921.Member: Sterling First Baptist Church; state board of Kansas Baptist Convention; Sterling American Legion.Survivors: the widow; daughters, Mrs. Faye McAllaster, Denver; Mrs. Maurine Humphreys, Topeka; a son, Richard E., Geneseo; brothers, Harold, Pratt; Vern, 711 North Madison, Hutchinson; C. Norris, 1120 North Prairie, Hutchinson; a sister, Mrs. Elden Engbrecht, 729 West 17th, Hutchinson; seven grandchildren.Funeral: 2:30 p.m. Monday at the church, Rev. C. Clayton Browne.
