Charles Wesley Hodge was born in June 2, 1845 in Indiana, his father, Shelton, was 31 and his mother, Jennetta, was 28. He married Matilda Jane ‘Jennie’ Walker on October 8, 1874, in Sterling, Kansas. Marriage license read Charles Hodge and Tillie J. Walker married by E. S. Hadlock, JP. They had one child during their marriage. He died on March 12, 1908, in Sterling, Kansas, at the age of 62, and was buried there.
